The festivities usually run from noon until midnight. Budget-minded travelers should note that Goombay’s energetic street party is free for everyone to enjoy!
If you need something spicier, check out Dungeon of Dark Secrets and Fetishes hosted by the Bourbon Bar and Saloon at 801 Duval Street. Tickets cost $20 per person. Everything goes, as long as it includes masks, PVC, leather, latex, uniforms, burlesque, period clothing, or anything that leaves little to the imagination. Key West, Florida lavishes Fantasy Fest with its mild tropical climate year after year. Attendees should prepare for average temperatures in the low to mid 80s. May through October is known as the wet season, with October in particular seeing approximately 10 to 11 inches of rain on average. Showers are more likely to occur in the early morning hours, so plan attire accordingly unless you don’t mind getting a little wet!
